Frank W. Kari Memorial Award
Fang Yang, a current PhD student in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, received a Frank W. Kari Memorial Award from Division of Nutritional Sciences at 2013 Endowed Awards Ceremony. The recepients use this award to attend the annual Experimental Biology Meeting and other conferences.
Gutgsell Endowed Professor: Lawrence B. Schook
Lawrence B. Schook is Gutgsell Professor of Animal Sciences, University Scholar and holds appointments in Animal Sciences, Pathobiology, Nutritional Sciences, and Surgical Oncology. He serves as the Theme Leader for Regenerative Biology and Tissue Engineering at the Institute for Genomic Biology and has an Affiliate Faculty appointment at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. Professor Schook attended Albion College and received his Ph.D. from Wayne State School of Medicine. After postdoctoral training at the Institute for Clinical Immunology in Switzerland and the University of Michigan he has held faculty positions at the Medical College of Virginia and the University of Minnesota.
National Graduate Research Award
Radhika S. Ganu, a current PhD student in the Division of Nutritional Sciences was one of twelve winners in the 2008 ASN P&G Graduate Student Research Awards abstract Competition.
Radhika presented her abstract, “Characterization of porcine betaine homocysteine methyltransferase (BHMT) and betaine homocysteine methyltransferase-2 (BHMT-2) genes” at the 2009 Experimental Biology conference ( April 18-22 2009).
Abbott Nutrition Scholarship
Fang Yang, a current PhD student in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, was one of ten winners to receive funding from Abbott Nutrition to attend the Certificate of Business Administration Program in the 2010 spring semester.
